One of the original axioms that Modo draws attention to has always been that “what has worked well for others”. Users rarely work with one new application, so it’s important to be a good citizen of the 3D world by using standards. Modo supports a wide range of file formats, most often related to data transfer. Users can read various types of formats either by simply opening them with “File > Open” and selecting the correct file, or by publishing “Import File >…”. The difference is that files with their “scene” are opened, imported, and the created file is inserted into the current scene. Users can save different file formats by saying “Save As”, “File > Save As” and specifying the format or by sending “FFile > Export.
